Flip Mino Video Camera Grant
The Pleasant Valley Free Library was among the twenty-two libraries in the Mid-Hudson system to get a grant of $386 to use in purchasing a Flip Mino Video Camera. The camera is to be used by "young people to use in creating videos about favorite books, why they love their library, original writings and other creative projects." Projects like these should certainly enrich the Library experience. This is still brand new and I at least am not entirely sure how it will work, but it is yet another great way for a Library to improve the community.

That's great news. Of course, a camera alone can't do all the job; there needs to be a librarian or energetic volunteer to coordinate a program to organize the kids who are interested in this opportunity. It comes just in time for summer and it's a great way to get the kids using the library. Good luck with it.
