Kathy Morris has been a Pleasant Valley resident for eight years, along with her husband Vinny and childen--Joe, 13, and Katie, 11. Kathy has almost 20 years of experience in public relations and has run her own public relations consulting firm for 10 years. Kathy's love of the written word seems to be inherited: Her mother works at three libraries concurrently in Illinois. Kathy earned her journalism degree from the University of Missouri and started her career and book collection at publisher Bantam Doubleday Dell in New York City. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with her family, reading, playing tennis, making photo albums, running 5-km races, making music, and contemplating ideas for several novels she has started. Kathy will be working on two committees on the Library Board: Public Relations (no surprise) and the Building Expansion Fund Raising Committee. Note that contributions to the Building Fund should be made to the Community Foundation of Dutchess County and labeled for the Pleasant Valley Library Building Fund.
The other new member is Greg Galarza, who has for some time been a volunteer helping Trustee Tracey Donaldson with gardens and landscaping. Greg is currently working in chip manufacturing. He plans to continue his service to the Library as a member of Tracey's Grounds Committee and also will join Trustee Vinnie Beltrani on the Building Committee.
The other Trustees are grateful to Beatrice Simoni who, as head of the Nominating Committee, shepherded both Kathy and Greg onto the Board.
